A pulley is fixed to the position, above the cover plate, of the hole wall of the manual hole digging pile, a rope is wound around the pulley, one end of the rope is connected with the head end of the grid-shaped protection steel plate, and the other end of the rope penetrates through a throughhole in the cover plate and then stretches into the manual hole digging pile below the rope. The protection device can prevent casualties of hole bottom operators caused by the fact that objects fallto the bottom of a hole, and safety of the hole bottom operators during manual hole digging pile construction is guaranteed.
