The invention relates to an electric tower and a method for the electric tower. The electric tower comprises an electric tower body and an installation assembly; the installation assembly comprises apower piece, a guide rail and a support; the support is used for installing equipment to be installed, the guide rail is installed on the electric tower body and extends in the vertical direction, andthe power piece is used for driving the support to move on the guide rail so as to achieve ascending and descending of the support. According to the electric tower provided by the invention, the installation assembly is integrated on the electric tower body, and the installation assembly is provided with the power piece which can drive the support to ascend and descend on the guide rail, so thatthe to-be-installed equipment installed on the support is driven to ascend and descend, and installation of the to-be-installed equipment on the electric tower body is realized. The installation of the to-be-installed equipment is time-saving and labor-saving, the safety of operators during installation is guaranteed, and the subsequent operations such as disassembly, maintenance, upgrading and updating of the to-be-installed equipment are convenient and saves labor.
