The invention discloses a reinforced gabion and clay woven bag composite cofferdam. The reinforced gabion and clay woven bag composite cofferdam comprises a reinforced gabion outer-layer cofferdam body and a clay woven bag inner-layer cofferdam body; the clay woven bag inner-layer cofferdam body is tightly attached to the inner side of the reinforced gabion outer-layer cofferdam body; the joint ofthe clay woven bag inner-layer cofferdam body and the reinforced gabion outer-layer cofferdam body is in a continuous step shape; and the clay woven bag inner-layer cofferdam body and the reinforcedgabion outer-layer cofferdam body are constructed in a crossed and layered mode. The invention further discloses a construction method of the composite cofferdam. The composite cofferdam is simple instructure and convenient to construct; the advantages of an earth rock cofferdam and a concrete cofferdam are combined; and the key problem of torrential rivers can be solved and the key requirementsof high environmental protection, large flood discharge, convenience in disassembling as temporary construction cofferdams can be met for an existing earth rock cofferdam and an existing concrete cofferdam.
