Spiral ground anchor with bent blade
A spiral ground anchor with a curved blade is provided for driving into the ground to anchor or support a structure. The ground anchor includes: a hub having a helical load support plate; and a pointed ground engaging end having a body with a spade-like pointed blade extending axially from the body and the hub. The blade has first and second opposing helical major surfaces and first and second lateral helical minor surfaces that converge at a planar axial surface to form the blade having a helical configuration. The blade has a longitudinal dimension extending at an angle of inclination relative to a longitudinal central axis of the ground anchor such that the axial face of the blade is spaced outwardly from the central axis of the ground anchor. The leading edge of the helical blade directs soil to the leading edge of the helical plate of the ground anchor.
