The invention discloses a steel cable guardrail for a municipal garden. The steel cable guardrail structurally comprises stand columns, inclined columns and five cables, wherein the inclined columns are welded to the side ends of the stand columns; the included angle between each inclined column and the horizontal plane is 90 degrees; the five cables are arranged and connect the two stand columns;each stand column comprises an elastic rod, a clamping device, a fixing block and a wire sleeve; each clamping device comprises a fixing base, a containing hole, an empty groove, a reset spring, a clamping base and a guide roller; each guide roller comprises a roller body, a clamping block, a guide groove and an anti-skid block; and each anti-skid block comprises a contact layer, a friction groove and an anti-skid block body. The elastic rods are reset to drive the clamping devices to abut against the cables, and therefore the cables can be guided into the stand columns, the cables arranged at the outer ends of the stand columns can be straightened, the distance between the cables is kept, the situation that a child lies on the cables and turns outwards is avoided, and the safety of the cable guardrail is kept.
