The invention discloses an automatic counting earth rammer and a counting method, and relates to the field of engineering machineries, the automatic counting earth rammer comprises a rammer, a controlchamber, an unhooking device, an unhooking steel wire, a tension sensor, a supporting arm is arranged at the outer top portion of the control chamber, a hooking and unhooking device is installed on alifting steel wire led out of the control chamber through a lifting hook, a rammer is fixedly installed below the hooking and unhooking device, and the rammer ascends and descends in the vertical direction under the control of the lifting steel wire; the hooking and unhooking device is provided with an unhook, an unhooking steel wire led out of the control chamber is hooked on the unhook, a tension sensor is installed on the unhooking steel wire and used for detecting the tension of the unhooking steel wire in real time, and the tension sensor is electrically connected with a control host inthe control chamber so as to transmit tension data and achieve power supply at the same time. The tension sensor is additionally arranged on the basis of original earth ramming equipment, the frequency of earth ramming operation can be recorded in real time, and it is avoided that an operator forgets or mistakenly records the earth ramming frequency due to self reasons; and the control room is inwireless communication with the outside, so that real-time monitoring and management of a construction site are facilitated.
