The invention provides a clamping and lifting mechanism and method for an automobile transfer AGV, and relates to the technical field of intelligent logistics. The mechanism comprises two rod-shaped basesarranged on the two sides of a to-be-clamped automobile body in parallel and a plurality of clamping arm sets used for clamping automobile body tires, wherein the clamping arm sets are arranged on the rod-shaped bases on the corresponding sides according to the positions of the to-be-clamped tires and extend inwards; and each clamping arm set comprises a tire front side clamping arm and a tire rear side clamping arm, wherein the tire rear side clamping arm and the tire front side clamping arm can move in the near direction, and lifting is achieved through clamping and extruding of the tires.The technical scheme is suitable for the automobile transfer process.
