The invention discloses an environment-friendly sand aerated building block. The environment-friendly sand aerated building block is characterized by comprising the following components in parts by weight: 10-12 parts of lime, 24-26 parts of cement, 60-62 parts of tailing powder, 2-4 parts of gypsum, 0.12-0.15 part of aluminum powder, 0.05-0.07 part of an additive, 0.1-0.5 part of sulfate slag, 1-3 parts of zirconite, 2-3 parts of sepiolite and 3-6 parts of fly ash. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the environment-friendly sand aerated building block.
