The invention discloses a preparation method of metal toughened rare earth silicate powder, which comprises the following steps: putting rare earth oxide powder, SiO2 powder, metal/alloy powder and a binder into a ball mill, and carrying out ball milling for a first set time; under the condition of normal temperature, placing the mixed materials on a pressing machine to be pressed, and obtaining a first pressed green body; carrying out vacuum degreasing and calcining on the first pressed green body to obtain a metal toughened rare earth silicate clinker; and crushing and screening the metal toughened rare earth silicate clinker to obtain the metal toughened rare earth silicate powder. The preparation method of the metal toughened rare earth silicate powder aims at solving the problems that after rare earth silicate powder is prepared into a coating, the toughness is poor, and the high-temperature oxidation resistance is insufficient.
