The invention relates to the field of suspension bridge anchoring system construction, in particular to a gravity type anchorage structure of a splay saddle buttress foundation and approach bridge foundation and a construction method. The gravity type anchorage structure comprises an anchor block; splay saddle buttresses which are arranged on the anchor blocks, and approach bridge piers are arranged on the splay saddle buttresses; and side walls which are arranged on the anchor blocks. The construction method comprises the following steps that 1, treating a drainage system through a base; 2, pouring a cushion layer; 3, pouring anchor blocks, splay saddle buttresses and foundations of the splay saddle buttresses layer by layer and block by block; 4, pouring a post-cast strip; and 5, constructing a splay saddle buttress and a side wall. The splay saddle buttress foundation and the approach bridge pier form a composite structure, the composite structure bears force from the approach bridge and the splay saddle at the same time, the bearing capacity of the splay saddle buttress can be improved, the safety of the anchorage foundation is guaranteed, the construction period can be shortened, and the construction cost is reduced.
