The invention discloses a multifunctional water drainage channel suitable for light rain retention and heavy rain drainage. The multifunctional water drainage channel comprises a water inlet, a water guide and drainage tank, a light rain retention area and a heavy rain drainage channel, wherein the water inlet is connected with a water catchment area; the water guide and drainage tank comprises a light rain water guide tank and a heavy rain drainage weir, an inlet of the light rain water guide tank is connected with the water inlet, and the heavy rain drainage weir is arranged at a first outlet of the light rain water guide tank in a surrounding mode; an inlet of the light rain retention area is connected with a second outlet of the light rain water guide tank; and an inlet of the heavy rain drainage channel is connected with the heavy rain drainage weir, and an outlet of the heavy rain drainage channel is connected with a receiving water body. According to the multifunctional water drainage channel, the design concept of rapid water drainage on the earth surface is adopted, rainwater is rapidly drained through gravity by means of the gradient and the large drainage section, and meanwhile a good water quality control effect can be achieved on light rain.
