The automatic ventilation control system comprises a main control unit, and an in-vehicle air quality sensor, an in-vehicle seat sensor, an out-vehicle air quality sensor and an out-vehicle heat source detection sensor which are in communication connection with the main control unit, the automatic ventilation control method comprises the following steps: starting a main control unit of the automatic ventilation control system, detecting the air quality, judging the air quality in the vehicle and the air quality outside the vehicle, and purifying the air in the vehicle; detecting the track change of a heat source outside the vehicle and controlling the opening degree of the vehicle window according to the track change. The air quality inside and outside the vehicle, the wind direction, the distance between people or objects, the track and the like are detected, the vehicle window is automatically opened at proper time, air in the vehicle is exchanged, and therefore the most natural scheme is adopted to solve the problem of the air quality in the vehicle, and a comfortable and safe driving environment is provided.
