The invention discloses a plain river network area sediment interception and treatment system which comprises a sediment interception tank arranged at a river channel connection point close to a river mouth, a conveying pipeline, a pneumatic pump, a processing device, an automatic control system, and a river mouth area wetland system which are arranged along a river channel. The automatic control system comprises a data center, a communication module, and a water quality sensor and a mud level sensor which are arranged in the sediment interception tank; the water quality sensor and the mud level sensor are connected with the pneumatic pump through the communication module and the data center; an outlet of the processing device is connected with the river mouth area wetland system; the sediment interception tank is formed by digging the bottom mud of a water body downwards; and a support for supporting the communication module, the water quality sensor, and the mud level sensor is arranged in the sediment interception tank. According to the plain river network area sediment interception and treatment system, the characteristics of fine sand particles, high water content and high fluidity of a plain river network area are utilized to realize automatic and rapid collection, deep treatment and recycling of sand from a river network to the river mouth area, the load of silt and nutritive salt entering a lake is reduced, and the eutrophication risk is reduced.
