The invention provides a gear transmission lock body based on a hoist thumb wheel lock cylinder. The gear transmission lock body comprises a lock cylinder, a lock cylinder driving gear, a first intermediate gear, a second intermediate gear and a driving shaft gear, wherein the lock cylinder driving gear is arranged on the lock cylinder in a sleeving mode, and a thumb wheel of the lock cylinder can drive the lock cylinder driving gear to rotate; the lock cylinder driving gear is meshed with the first intermediate gear and the second intermediate gear; and the first intermediate gear and the second intermediate gear are meshed with the driving shaft gear. The gear transmission lock body is reasonable in structure and ingenious in design. The two intermediate gears are arranged and meshed with the driving shaft gear at the same time, so that unlocking is more effortless, when the rotating angle of the lock cylinder is large and one gear has a fault of temporary meshing disengagement, normal operation of unlocking can be ensured through the other gear, then meshing can be normally recovered, and the function of gear speed reduction is achieved through the arrangement of the duplex gears.
