The invention discloses a vertical connecting part for a ceiling joist and a connecting structure thereof. The vertical connecting part comprises C-shaped covering keels and a vertical connecting part body; each C-shaped covering keel comprises a first C-shaped covering keel and a second C-shaped covering keel; the vertical connecting part body comprises a top plate, a bottom plate, a side plate, and an inserting part; the top plates and the bottom plates are perpendicularly connected with the upper ends and the lower ends of the same sides of the side plates respectively; the top plates, the bottom plates and the side plates form U-shaped grooves; each inserting part comprises two parallel inserting plates; the two inserting plates are perpendicularly connected with the front ends and the rear ends of the other sides, away from the top plates and the bottom plates, of the side plates respectively; the distances between the top plates and the bottom plates are matched with the heights of the C-shaped covering keels; and the first C-shaped covering keels are transversely clamped into the U-shaped grooves formed by the top plates, the bottom plates and the side plates. The vertical connecting part for the ceiling joist is integrally formed, so that the overall strength of the connecting part can meet the requirements of a suspended ceiling, and the problem that a covering keel and a vertical keel are inconvenient to additionally mount in a keel frame with a large span is solved.
