The invention discloses a preparation method and application of a ceramsite proppant added with electrolytic manganese residues. The ceramsite proppant added with electrolytic manganese residues is prepared from the following raw materials: the electrolytic manganese residues and bauxite, wherein the electrolytic manganese residues are residues obtained after wet-process manganese extraction of industrial wastes. The ceramsite proppant prepared by the invention has the advantages that the performance meets the SY/T5108-2014 industrial standard, and the ceramsite proppant can be used for replacing natural quartz sand to be used for fracturing operation under the closed pressure of 35MPa; the ceramsite proppant is particularly used for hydraulic fracturing exploitation of coal bed gas, wherein the use performance required by the industrial standard is met; meanwhile, the electrolytic manganese residues are added into the raw materials, so that the problems of solid waste accumulation, environmental pollution and sustainable development are solved. In addition, the preparation process is low in cost and simple in process, resource circulation and environmental protection are facilitated, and a new thought is provided for comprehensive utilization of the electrolytic manganese residues.
