The invention discloses a method and a system for intelligently controlling the water quantity of a drainage pipe network. The method comprises the step of controlling a water suction pump at the tail end of the pipe network to drain water on the basis of a preset strategy according to weather information, tide information and pipe network water level information which are monitored regularly or in real time. The system comprises a natural information monitoring device, a central intelligent control unit and the water suction pump, wherein the central intelligent control unit controls the water suction pump at the tail end of the pipe network to drain water on the basis of the preset strategy according to natural information monitored by the natural information monitoring device at regular time or in real time. According to the system and the method, the central intelligent control unit can automatically make a control instruction of water drainage or water storage under different conditions, so that an optimal pipe network management effect is achieved.
