The invention provides an arched overhanging tangent tower on a +/-800kV extra-high voltage direct current transmission line. The arched overhanging tangent tower comprises a ground wire support, a wire cross arm, a tower body and tower legs; the wire cross arm is arranged on the top of the tower body and composed of two cross arm branches symmetrically extending towards the two sides of a tower head, the positions of the two cross arm branches are symmetrical about the central axis of the tower body, wire hanging points used for installing insulator strings are arranged at the two ends of the cross arm branches, and bipolar transmission wires are hung through the insulator strings; the ground wire support is arranged on the top of the wire cross arm and composed of two support branches symmetrically extending towards the two sides of the tower head, the positions of the two support branches are symmetrical about the central axis of the tower body, and ground wire hanging points used for hanging ground wires are arranged at the ends of the two support branches; and the two cross arm branches of the wire cross arm are each composed of a trapezoid inner cross arm and a trapezoid outer cross arm, and the trapezoid inner cross arms and the trapezoid outer cross arms meet the requirement for electrical clearance. The length and the pole spacing of the cross arm can be reduced, the effective height of the iron tower is increased, and the weight of the iron tower is reduced.
