The invention provides a backpack type hair dryer which comprises a backpack unit used for arranging a power source and an air outlet unit; a connecting unit which is connected with the bearing unit and the air outlet unit, and comprises a connecting rod arranged on the bearing unit and a connecting rod arranged on the bearing unit; and at least one universal joint which comprises a ball seat and a ball head shaft, and the ball head shaft is arranged in the ball seat; wherein one end of the connecting rod is connected with the ball seat, and the ball head shaft is connected with the air outlet unit. According to the backpack type hair dryer, the swing range of the air outlet unit can be enlarged, and the working efficiency of a user is improved.
