The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a molded body and a molded body. Provided is a molded body having an attractive appearance. A method for producing a molded body, the method comprising: a step for preparing a curable composition containing a monomer having a (meth) acryloyl group, a curing agent, and a silica filler; and a step for molding the curable composition by heating and compressing the curable composition using a molding die provided with a base material comprising a metal material and a surface treatment layer provided on the surface of the base material, thereby obtaining a molded article in which the curable composition is cured.
