The invention discloses a safety protection device for bridge construction. The device comprises a sliding sleeve, a box body, a winding roller, a first motor, a second motor and a photovoltaic solar panel. The sliding sleeve is pushed to slide on a cross rod so that the distance between a first adjusting device and a second adjusting device is adjusted, and the protection range of the device is adjusted; the requirements for different protection ranges of the device under different conditions are met, a first rod body is adjusted to stretch out and draw back in a first barrel so that the height of a box body is adjusted, a photovoltaic solar panel is arranged to be used for converting solar energy into electric energy, effective utilization of the solar energy is achieved, and energy conservation and environmental protection are achieved; when sun shading is needed, a pulling plate is pulled to drive the winding roller to rotate, sunshade cloth further extends out of the box body, and the pulling plate is further clamped on the clamping groove so that the position of the pulling plate is limited, sunshade for an operator in hot weather is achieved, and the situation that the operator is directly exposed to the burning sun and is prone to heatstroke and so on is avoided.
