The invention provides a safety protection device for geotechnical engineering support. The safety protection device comprises a base and a vertical plate arranged at the upper end of the base; a main anchoring mechanism is arranged on the base; a movable hole is formed in the vertical plate; a movable rod is inserted into the movable hole; a push plate is arranged at the inner end of the movable rod; a pushing spring is arranged on the movable rod in a sleeving mode; a supporting plate is arranged on the inner side wall of the push plate; at least two double-trunnion bases are oppositely arranged on the outer side wall of the vertical plate; supporting columns are rotationally connected to the double-trunnion bases; a fixing plate is arranged at the bottom ends of the supporting columns; and an auxiliary anchoring mechanism is arranged on the fixing plate. The movable rod is sleeved with the pushing spring, the supporting plate transmits the borne side pressure to the push plate and the movable rod, the pushing spring on the movable rod is compressed to generate reverse spring thrust, so that the supporting plate is reversely supported, and meanwhile the vertical plate is supported and fixed through the supporting columns rotationally connected to the side wall of the vertical plate; and therefore, a good supporting and protecting effect is achieved on the supporting plate.
