The invention discloses a test device and a test method for an excavation model of a foundation pit containing a karst cave. The test device comprises a test model box, horizontal supporting devices, displacement measuring devices, a karst cave generating device and a data acquisition device. Similar materials are filled in the test model box in a layered mode, and in the process of filling the similar materials, the karst cave generating device, retaining walls and the displacement measuring devices are sequentially installed. The karst cave generating device forms the karst cave, then the similar materials between every two adjacent retaining walls are excavated to form the foundation pit, and the horizontal supporting devices are installed between every two adjacent retaining walls.
