The invention provides a drainage pipeline overflow sewage treatment system and a method, and relates to the technical field of sewage treatment equipment. The system comprises an inlet water monitoring device, a dosing device, a mixed flocculation structure, a particle separation structure, a water collecting and discharging structure, a sludge collecting and discharging structure, a particle storage and concentration structure and a controller; water feeding, dosing, water discharging and sludge discharging are intelligently controlled by sensing the quality and quantity of incoming water on line, space conditions are fully utilized, land is saved, medicine adding is saved, the system purification efficiency is improved, overflow pollutants of the drainage pipeline are intercepted and purified to the maximum extent, and the pollution load of overflowing and discharging into a receiving water body through the drainage pipeline is reduced. The treatment system provided by the invention can be used independently or in parallel, and can be combined with pretreatment and advanced treatment units in series, so that the requirements of different treatment scales and treatment standards are met, and the application flexibility is improved.
