The invention discloses a light prefabricated ballast bed which comprises two prefabricated longitudinal sleepers, the two prefabricated longitudinal sleepers are longitudinally distributed at intervals, a pressure bearing table is arranged on the tops of the prefabricated longitudinal sleepers, a steel rail is installed on the pressure bearing table through fasteners, a first layer of connecting reinforcing mesh is embedded in the bottoms of the prefabricated longitudinal sleepers. The two first-layer connecting reinforcing meshes are connected through a second-layer connecting reinforcing mesh which is transversely distributed, a plurality of transverse through holes are transversely formed in the prefabricated longitudinal sleepers, third-layer connecting reinforcing meshes are installed in the two corresponding transverse through holes, concrete is poured in a gap between the two prefabricated longitudinal sleepers, and a base layer is formed; the base layer covers the first layer of connecting reinforcing mesh, the second layer of connecting reinforcing mesh and the third layer of connecting reinforcing mesh. The invention further discloses a construction method of the light prefabricated ballast bed. The light prefabricated ballast bed has the beneficial effects that overall installation of the light prefabricated track bed is achieved, and in the installation process, the prefabricated longitudinal sleepers are convenient to install through the large supporting frame.
