The invention provides the sintering aid for preparing the silicon nitride ceramics. The sintering aid comprises a component A, a component B and a component C; the particle size of the sintering aid is less than or equal to 100 nm; the mass ratio of the component A to the component B to the component C is (1-5):(1-10):(1-10); the component A comprises titanium dioxide; the component B comprises boric oxide, magnesium oxide or calcium oxide; and the component C comprises a rare earth metal oxide. The sintering aid can effectively improve the mechanical property of the silicon nitride ceramics.
