The invention provides a hinge and an installation method of a potentiometer in the hinge. The hinge comprises a rotating shaft, a hinge body connected with the rotating shaft and the potentiometer installed on the hinge body; the potentiometer comprises a resistor body and a moving body; the moving body moves on the resistor body along with rotation of the hinge body; and the installation method of the potentiometer in the hinge comprises the steps that the potentiometer is installed on the hinge body, and the moving body is made to move on the resistor body along with rotation of the hinge body. According to the scheme, after electrical characteristics are added to the hinge, the scene needing to open and close the hinge better conforms to practical application development, all opening and closing actions become sensible and knowable, and therefore controllability is achieved.
