The novel buckling-restrained brace comprises a damping assembly and supporting rods, wherein the damping assembly comprises a damping block, the damping block is positioned between two steel plates, the steel plates are provided with mounting grooves corresponding to the damping block, gusset plates are arranged on the sides, away from each other, of the two steel plates, and the supporting rods are installed on the steel plates through the gusset plates. According to the technical scheme, the damping blocks are arranged between the two steel plates, and when the upper steel plate and the lower steel plate generate relative dislocation, the damping block arranged in the steel plates generate plastic deformation due to dislocation so as to dissipate earthquake energy.
