The method comprises the steps that a vehicle owner selects door opening and closing gestures through a display storage system and informs a gesture recognition system of a selection result; the gesture recognition system recognizes door opening and closing gesture information and corresponding door opening and closing instructions and transmits the door opening and closing instructions to a vehicle door control system and the display storage system; the vehicle door control system responds after receiving the instruction, and responded feedback information is transmitted to the display storage system; and the display storage system receives and stores the door opening and closing instruction sent by the gesture recognition system and the feedback information of the vehicle door control system. According to the method, gestures of people are automatically recognized through a radar system installed on the vehicle, and automatic opening or closing of the vehicle door is achieved; and the vehicle door can be opened and closed only through one gesture, the sense of ceremony is achieved, meanwhile, the two hands are liberated, and great convenience is brought to a vehicle owner.
