The invention discloses an auxiliary braking device in an engine cylinder, a braking method and a road roller. The device comprises a pressing plate, a bidirectional electromagnet and a piston arranged in a piston cylinder, the top end of the piston cylinder is provided with an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and an exhaust passage where the exhaust valve is located is provided with an exhaust stop valve; the bidirectional electromagnet is connected to the bottom face of the pressing plate, a check block is connected to the output end of the bidirectional electromagnet, and the bidirectional electromagnet is used for controlling the check block to be located at a first position or a second position; at the first position, the check block stretches out to prevent a rocker arm from returning so that the exhaust valve can be opened; and at the second position, the stop block retracts, and the rocker arm returns to close the exhaust valve. According to the auxiliary braking device in the engine cylinder, the braking method and the road roller, in-cylinder braking can be well achieved, the braking pressure of a drive axle is relieved, and the safe driving performance of the road roller is improved; and the structure is simple and reliable, and measures such as engine oil pressure are not needed.
