The invention discloses a macromolecular waterproof sand and a preparation method thereof. The macromolecular waterproof sand comprises, by weight, 40-60 parts of mountain quartz powder, 20-30 parts of calcium stearate, 10-20 parts of a coupling agent, 1-2 parts of an ultraviolet light absorber and 2-3 parts of an antioxidant. The preparation method comprises the following steps: taking a proper amount of the raw materials, mixing, adding into an SHR type high-speed stirrer, and uniformly stirring to form slurry; taking out, placing into a plurality of plastic boxes with the length of 50 cm, the width of 30 cm and the height of 5 cm, solidifying into blocks, and drying; and putting the dried blocky raw materials into a fine crusher, crushing into small blocks, and putting the small blocks into a centrifugal granulator for manufacturing.
