The invention discloses an environment-friendly tundish dry material which comprises the following components: 5-10% of recycled siliceous aggregate with the particle size of 5-3 mm; 5-10% of recycled siliceous aggregate with the particle size of 3-1 mm; 3-5% of recycled siliceous aggregate with the particle size of less than 1 mm; 5-10% of regenerated siliceous powder with the particle size of less than 0.088 mm; 10-15% of quartz sand with the particle size of 5-3 mm; 10-15% of quartz sand with the particle size of 3-1 mm; 5-10% of quartz sand with the particle size of less than 1 mm; 10-15% of quartz sand powder with the particle size of less than 0.088 mm; 15-20% of alumina powder; 0-2% of fly ash; 5-8% of boron glass; 5-8% of glucose; and 0.5-1% of sodium hexametaphosphate. The invention also provides a preparation method. The dry material provided by the invention is convenient to construct, short in baking time, fast in turnover and good in ladle turning performance; the adopted binding agent is environment-friendly; the dry material is good in thermal insulation performance, energy-saving and consumption-reducing; and the service life is long, the cost is low, and better economic benefits and social benefits can be brought.
