The invention discloses a point hanging assembly applied to veneer installation and an installation method. A first side plate is connected with a second side plate; a first back bolt through hole is formed in the first side plate, and a back bolt penetrates through the first back bolt through hole to be connected with the first side plate and a veneer; an adjusting through hole is formed in the side, away from the first side plate, of a limiting device; a first connector is arranged on a first N-shaped piece body and inserted into the limiting device; a second back bolt through hole is formed in the first N-shaped piece body, and a back bolt penetrates through the second back bolt through hole to connect the first N-shaped piece body with the veneer; and a panel on one side of a supporting frame is connected with the second side plate through the adjusting through hole, and a panel on the other side of the supporting frame is used for being connected with a wall or a corresponding panel. According to the technical scheme, through the arrangement of the supporting frame, an L-shaped piece and the first N-shaped piece, the veneer can be conveniently fixed to the wall, so that the installation efficiency of the veneer is improved, and meanwhile materials of a first hanging point assembly are saved.
