The invention relates to a ceramic material and a preparation method thereof, the ceramic material comprises: a ceramic main phase, the ceramic main phase comprises a solid solution formed by Al2O3-MgO-Sm2O3, and the molar ratio of Al2O3 to MgO to Sm2O3 in the solid solution is (20.90-23.10): (2.85-3.15): (1.90-2.10); and a glass phase, wherein the glass phase comprises at least two of Al2O3, ZnO, BaO, SiO2 and B2O3. The frequency temperature coefficient of the provided ceramic material is in a range of +/-10 ppm/DEG C.
