The invention relates to the technical field of dampers, and in particular relates to a metal bridge vibration reduction viscous damper, which improves the response efficiency of the viscous damper and enhances the protection on a bridge. The metal bridge vibration reduction viscous damper comprises two hinge pairs which are symmetrically and fixedly mounted on a pier and the bridge respectively, two groups of viscous dampers which are rotationally mounted on the two hinge pairs respectively and are used for absorbing and consuming impact energy generated when the bridge and the pier generate longitudinal relative displacement, and a balancing device which is fixedly mounted between the two groups of viscous dampers and is used for communicating media in the two groups of viscous dampers; and meanwhile, when one group of viscous dampers generate buffer response under the vibration of the bridge, the balancing device drives the other group of viscous dampers to perform synchronous buffer response on the bridge.
