The invention discloses a gangue self-cementing filling material for mine filling and application of the gangue self-cementing filling material. The gangue self-cementing filling material is composed of gangue and water, wherein the mass percentage content of the gangue is 75-80%. The gangue adopted by the invention contains at least one of the following mineral components: illite, montmorillonite and kaolinit;, namely the gangue is one, two or three selected from illite, montmorillonite and kaolinite. The mass percentage of the mineral components of the material is not less than 20%; and the gangue needs to be crushed, the maximum particle size of the gangue does not exceed 20 mm, and the proportion of the gangue with the particle size of less than 0.3 mm is not less than 20%. The gangue self-cementing filling material disclosed by the invention does not need to be doped with a cementing material, so the cost of the filling material is greatly reduced, a low-cost way is provided for underground filling of gangue, popularization and application of a gangue filling technology are greatly promoted, and large-scale treatment and resource utilization of coal mine gangue solid wastes in China are assisted.
