The invention relates to a foundation pit side wall steel beam muck removing device and method. The device is used for removing muck accumulated in a groove defined by two opposite groove side edges and a groove bottom edge of a steel beam, and the device comprises a remote control trolley, a water storage container, a muck storage container, a push shovel, a mechanical arm and a telescopic vertical rod, wherein the remote control trolley walks along the two groove side edges of the steel beam; the water storage container is arranged on the remote control trolley, the bottom of the water storage container is provided with a water outlet extending below the remote control trolley, and the water outlet is provided with a water outlet valve for controlling opening and closing; the muck storage container is stacked on the water storage container, and an opening is formed in the top of the muck storage container; the push shovel is rotationally connected to the front part of the remote control trolley through a rotating mechanism; the telescopic vertical rod is controlled by a telescopic mechanism to stretch out and draw back, and the lower end of the telescopic vertical rod is arranged on the remote control trolley; one end of the mechanical arm is connected with the upper end of the telescopic vertical rod, and the other end of the mechanical arm is connected with a bucket; and the remote control trolley, the water outlet valve, a rotating mechanism, the telescopic mechanism and the mechanical arm are all controlled by a remote controller to operate.
