The invention discloses a novel gypsum-based leveling material, which is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: a mixed cementing material, mineral filler, a thickening time control agent, a rheology modifier, latex powder, cellulose ether, slaked lime, a reinforcing material and water, wherein the proportion of the mixed cementing material is 25%-40%, the proportion of the mineral filler is 35%-68%, the proportion of the thickening time control agent is 4%-6%, the proportion of the rheology modifier is 0.4%-0.6%, and the proportion of the latex powder is 1.4%-1.6%. According to the novel gypsum-based leveling material, the mixed cementing material serves as a base material, the mineral filler, the thickening time control agent, the rheology modifier and the reinforcing material are added respectively and stirred, the leveling material is high in forming speed and has high water binding capacity and shrinkage supplementing capacity, by using the leveling material, hollowing and cracking phenomena caused by different materials among different working procedures are avoided, the binding property between the material and other materials is good, and the construction process is simple.
