The invention discloses a breaking hammer with a protection device. The breaking hammer comprises a hammer body, a shell of the hammer body is provided with two clamping pieces, the two sides of the two clamping pieces are fixedly connected through bolts, the outer side walls of the clamping pieces are fixedly connected with first plate bodies, the sides, away from the clamping pieces, of the first plate bodies are hinged to second plate bodies; and the sides, away from the first plate bodies, of the second plate bodies are in threaded connection with protective net plates; and the two clamping pieces are fixed to the shell of the hammer body through bolts, then the first plate bodies, the second plate bodies and the protective net plates on the two sides of the two clamping pieces are aligned with one another to surround and protect the hammer body, threaded rods are rotated clockwise to enable an outer barrel to keep moving downwards, an inner barrel correspondingly slides outwards in the outer barrel to assist in adjusting the angle between the protective net plates and the second plate bodies, therefore, the protective range of the protective net plates is widened, and the damage to pedestrians on the road and surrounding workers is avoided.
