The invention discloses an assembly type large-expansion-amount polyurethane expansion joint device and a construction method thereof. The assembly type large-expansion-amount polyurethane expansion joint device comprises a prefabricated polyurethane expansion joint, polyurethane concrete, a reserved gap, a joint crossing steel plate, bridge concrete, an adhesive and an expansion joint groove area. The method comprises the steps that the expansion joint groove area is firstly cleaned; then, polyurethane concrete is prepared; then, a layer of polyurethane concrete is laid at the bottom of the expansion joint; the two faces of the joint-crossing steel plate are coated with a release agent, and then the joint-crossing steel plate is placed on polyurethane concrete; the prefabricated polyurethane elastomer expansion joint is placed on the joint crossing steel plate; then, the side face of a groove area of the expansion joint and the trapezoidal slope face of the prefabricated polyurethane elastomer expansion joint are coated with an adhesive, and the next step of operation can be carried out after 1 h; and finally, the notch is filled and leveled up with polyurethane concrete. According to the method, the restriction of working conditions on construction requirements is reduced, the time for opening traffic is greatly shortened, and the pavement layer connected with the expansion joint device is protected.
