The invention provides a construction method of a hexagonal block slope protection. The construction method comprises the following steps of laying hexagonal blocks: laying the hexagonal blocks on the first slope surface of a side slope, and pouring cement mortar into gaps among the hexagonal blocks so as to form a slope protection base body; measuring the slope ratio: measuring the slope ratio of the second slope surface of the slope protection base body; calculating the drilling angle: calculating the drilling angle according to the slope ratio; erecting a coring machine: erecting the coring machine according to the drilling angle, and adjusting the drill bit angle of the coring machine; and drilling: controlling the coring machine to drill drainage holes in at least part of the hexagonal blocks, wherein the drainage holes penetrate through the hexagonal blocks, and in the vertical direction, the first height of the ends, close to the first slope surface, of the drainage holes is larger than or equal to the second height of the ends, close to the second slope surface, of the drainage holes. According to the construction method, the drainage effect of underground water in the side slope can be increased, and the stability of the hexagonal block slope protection and the stability of the side slope are enhanced.
