The automatic clearing and picking device comprises a rail which is connected to the side, facing a medial strip, of an expressway guardrail and arranged in the road direction, the rail is connected with a clearing and picking barrel through a driving arm, the driving arm is connected with a rolling wheel so that the clearing and picking barrel can move along the rail, and a camera is installed on the side portion of the clearing and picking barrel, and a cleaning arm is mounted at the bottom. The maintenance personnel of the expressway can finish the clearing and picking operation in a remote control manner at a place far away from the medial strip, so that the maintenance operation efficiency of the medial strip of the expressway is improved, meanwhile, accidents caused by the fact that the maintenance personnel cross the expressway are avoided.
