The invention discloses a stay wire protection device which comprises a composite insulator and a protection shell. The composite insulator comprises a conducting rod and an insulating sleeve sleeved on the outer side of the conducting rod, and the conducting rod is connected with a stay wire in series; and the protection shell comprises a first section and a second section which are connected with each other, the second section is arranged close to the ground, the protection shell sleeves the periphery of the composite insulator, and the protection shell can rotate around the composite insulator. The composite insulator is arranged at one end, close to the ground, of the stay wire, and the conductive rod is wrapped by the insulating sleeve of the composite insulator, so that induced electricity around the stay wire is reduced, people are prevented from being injured by the induced electricity, and the safety of surrounding people is effectively protected. The protection shell is arranged on the periphery of the composite insulator, and the whole protection shell can rotate around the composite insulator under the action of external force such as wind power or biological gravity, so that climbing plants or reptiles such as snakes around the stay wire are difficult to climb upwards around the outer wall of the stay wire protection device.
