The invention relates to the technical field of refractory materials, in particular to a low-heat-conductivity energy-saving mullite kiln lining and a preparation method thereof. The density of a material can be reduced by using a mullite closed hollow type pore increasing material, so a low-heat-conductivity density body can be obtained; meanwhile, heat transfer efficiency can be blocked or greatly reduced by using the hollow material body, the use temperature of the whole kiln lining is greatly improved, and overall heat conductivity is reduced; sintering-free manufacturing is achieved in a production process by adjusting a formula, and the problems of heat loss and red kilns caused by too high heat conductivity can be avoided; and meanwhile, high-energy-consumption high-pollution equipment such as a tunnel kiln does not need to be used in preparation of the mullite kiln lining, so green manufacturing is achieved.
