The invention relates to a foundation pit steel structure supporting system. The foundation pit steel structure supporting system comprises a bottom column, a protection plate, an anchor body and a steel cable; the bottom column is buried in the bottom of a foundation pit; the protection plate abuts against the side wall of the foundation pit, and the lower end of the protection plate is connected with the bottom column; the anchor body is fixed to the outer side of the foundation pit; and the steel cable is located between the anchor body and the protection plate, one end of the steel cable is fixed to the anchor body, and the other end of the steel cable is fixed to the protection plate. The invention further relates to a construction method of the foundation pit steel structure supporting system. The construction method comprises the steps of bottom column installation, anchor body installation, protection plate installation, steel cable fixing and prestress tensioning. The protection plate is fixed through the bottom column and the steel cable, and the stability of the foundation pit can be guaranteed; and compared with a traditional anchor pulling supporting system, the foundation pit steel structure supporting system has the high construction speed, the construction time is effectively saved, the construction period is shortened, and the construction cost is low.
