The invention relates to the field of road construction, in particular to a telescopic device used in a reserved road expansion joint and a construction method thereof. The telescopic device comprises two oppositely-arranged toothed plates, wherein an expansion joint is formed between the two toothed plates; the toothed plates are connected with reinforced concrete panels on the two sides; the toothed plates are provided with fixing holes for steel bars in the reinforced concrete panels to penetrate through; a prestress multidirectional displacement system is arranged in the expansion joint and comprises a plurality of multidirectional expansion assemblies located in the expansion joint; each multidirectional telescopic assembly comprises sliding blocks slidably connected to the two toothed plates in the vertical direction, a telescopic rod hinged between the two sliding blocks in the horizontal direction and a first spring arranged on the outer side of the telescopic rod in a sleeving mode; and the two ends of the first spring are fixedly connected to the sliding blocks. The telescopic device has the effect of improving the stability between the reinforced concrete panels.
