The invention relates to the technical field of steel wire rope maintenance, and particularly discloses an automatic maintenance device for a steel wire rope of a water gate winch type hoist. The automatic maintenance device comprises a maintenance mechanism, an oiling mechanism, a rust removal mechanism and a first motor; the output end of the first motor is connected with a rotating rod through a coupler; one end of the steel wire rope sequentially penetrates the rust removal mechanism, the oiling mechanism and the maintenance mechanism and is wound around the rotating rod; and the rust removal mechanism is used for removing rust on the steel wire rope. The oiling mechanism is used for infiltrating lubricating oil into the steel wire rope obtained after rust removal; and the maintenance mechanism is used for evenly smearing the lubricating oil on the steel wire rope. According to the automatic maintenance device, automatic maintenance of the steel wire rope is achieved, time and labor are saved, the maintenance effect is good, and the work efficiency is high.
