The invention relates to the field of heat-resistant materials, in particular to an alumina-based cordierite explosion-proof castable which comprises the following components in parts by weight: 60-80 parts of high bauxite clinker, 30-50 parts of cordierite, 10-20 parts of silicon dioxide micropowder, 3-5 parts of aluminate cement, 15-30 parts of alumina powder, 5-10 parts of silicon elementary substance micropowder and 1-5 parts of modified carbon fibers. The modified carbon fibers are coated with an inorganic silicon dioxide coating layer. The alumina-based cordierite explosion-proof castable disclosed by the invention not only has good high temperature resistance, but also has good thermal shock resistance, and is suitable for lining parts with excellent stripping resistance and wear resistance and occasions with requirements on thermal shock.
