The present invention relates to a panel for use in a panel system and a method of manufacturing such a panel. The panel comprises a frame structure consisting of a set of profile elements surrounding panel elements. Each profile element comprises a profile member of a rigid material and at least one thermal insulation member of a thermal insulation material, and the thermal insulation member is connected to the profile member. In the method, the profile member is formed by extruding an intermediate profile length comprising a bridge portion connecting a support portion and a cover portion to form a substantially U-shaped chamber defined by the support portion, the bridge portion and the cover portion, and the steps of forming the thermal insulation member and connecting the profile member to the thermal insulation member are performed in a single operation by molding a thermal insulation material into a U-shaped cavity defined by the support portion, the bridge portion and the cover portion.
