The invention relates to the photovoltaic field, and discloses a photovoltaic module mounting device, which comprises a plurality of columns of supporting rods and a plurality of positioning rods. Each column of supporting rods comprises a plurality of supporting units which are connected in series, each supporting unit comprises a supporting connecting rod, a mounting guide groove and a connecting plate, and the mounting guide groove is fixedly mounted above the supporting connecting rod; one end of the supporting connecting rod is fixedly connected with the connecting plate; a first connecting hole for penetrating through the positioning rod is formed in one end, connected with the supporting connecting rod, of the connecting plate, and a second connecting hole is formed in the other end of the connecting plate; a third connecting hole is formed in the other end of each supporting connecting rod, and the third connecting hole is communicated with the second connecting hole in the adjacent supporting connecting rod; every two adjacent rows of supporting rods are connected through a positioning rod. The invention further discloses a mounting method of the photovoltaic assembly, the photovoltaic assembly is hung on an existing roof in the mode that the armor is hung on the roof, rapid mounting of the photovoltaic assembly is achieved, parts are greatly reduced, and the existing roof is not damaged.
